Nordic Ai Cup Online Hackathon Competition

These Terms of Use and Participation (“Terms”) apply to your participation in Nordic Ai Cup (“Competition”), an online AI hackathon competition organized by Ambolt ApS, operating under the name Ambolt AI (“Ambolt AI”, “Organizer”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By registering for, accessing, or participating in the Competition, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not participate in the Competition.

Ambolt AI may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Competition website, platform, or by email. Continued participation after such changes means that you accept the updated Terms.

1. Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms:

Competition means the Nordic Ai Cup online AI hackathon, including any related website, platform, tools, events, judging process, and communication channels.

Participant means any individual or team member who registers for or participates in the Competition.

Team means a group of Participants working together on a Submission.

Submission means any project, prototype, software, documentation, presentation, video, dataset, model, design, text, image, or other material submitted as part of the Competition.

Ambolt AI Materials means any materials, tools, datasets, APIs, documentation, branding, templates, or other resources made available by Ambolt AI for use in the Competition.

Platform means any digital platform, website, software, online workspace, or communication channel used for the Competition.

2. Eligibility

2.1 Participation is open to individuals who meet the eligibility requirements stated on the Competition website or in the official Competition materials.

2.2 Participants must provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering.

2.3 If the Competition is open to minors, Participants under the age of 18 may be required to obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian before participating.

2.4 Ambolt AI may refuse, suspend, or terminate participation if a Participant provides false information, violates these Terms, or acts in a way that harms the Competition, other Participants, or Ambolt AI.

3. Registration and Accounts

3.1 Participants may be required to create an account or register through a Competition platform.

3.2 Participants are responsible for keeping their account login details confidential.

3.3 Participants may not share accounts, impersonate others, or register using false or misleading information.

3.4 Ambolt AI may suspend or terminate access to the Competition or Platform if misuse, cheating, security concerns, or rule violations are suspected.

4. Competition Rules

4.1 Participants must comply with these Terms and any additional rules, guidelines, deadlines, judging criteria, technical requirements, or instructions published by Ambolt AI.

4.2 Submissions must be made before the stated deadline. Late submissions may be rejected.

4.3 Ambolt AI may change deadlines, format, judging criteria, or Competition details if reasonably necessary, for example due to technical issues, security concerns, or circumstances outside Ambolt AI’s control.

4.4 Ambolt AI’s decisions regarding eligibility, rule interpretation, judging, winners, and disqualification are final, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

5. Participant Conduct

Participants must act fairly, respectfully, and lawfully.

Participants may not:

a. cheat, manipulate results, or interfere with the judging process;

b. submit work they do not have the right to use;

c. plagiarize or misrepresent the origin of a Submission;

d. harass, threaten, abuse, discriminate against, or harm other Participants, judges, mentors, or Ambolt AI representatives;

e. upload malware, harmful code, or content intended to disrupt systems;

f. attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, data, APIs, or infrastructure;

g. use the Platform for illegal, harmful, deceptive, or abusive purposes;

h. violate intellectual property rights, privacy rights, data protection laws, or other applicable laws;

i. use automated tools, bots, or scripts in a way that gives an unfair advantage or disrupts the Competition;

j. submit content that is unlawful, offensive, discriminatory, defamatory, sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise inappropriate.

Ambolt AI may remove content, suspend access, or disqualify Participants who violate this section.

6. Use of AI Tools

6.1 Participants may use AI tools, machine learning models, APIs, datasets, and other technical resources, unless the official Competition rules state otherwise.

6.2 Participants are responsible for ensuring that their use of AI tools and datasets complies with applicable laws, license terms, platform rules, and third-party rights.

6.3 Participants must not knowingly submit AI-generated content, code, data, or outputs that infringe third-party rights or violate applicable law.

6.4 Participants may be required to disclose which AI tools, models, APIs, datasets, or external resources were used in their Submission.

6.5 Ambolt AI may reject or disqualify a Submission if it appears to involve plagiarism, unauthorized use of protected material, unlawful data processing, unsafe AI use, or misleading representation of authorship.

7. Ambolt AI Materials and Platform Access

7.1 Ambolt AI may provide Participants with access to Ambolt AI Materials for the purpose of participating in the Competition.

7.2 Participants receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Ambolt AI Materials only for the Competition and only in accordance with these Terms and any additional instructions.

7.3 Participants may not copy, distribute, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, misuse, or commercialize Ambolt AI Materials unless expressly permitted.

7.4 Access to the Platform and Ambolt AI Materials may be changed, limited, suspended, or discontinued at any time.

7.5 Ambolt AI does not guarantee that the Platform, tools, APIs, or other technical resources will be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

8. Submissions and Intellectual Property

8.1 Participants retain ownership of the intellectual property rights they already own in their Submissions.

8.2 By submitting a Submission, Participants confirm that:

a. they have created the Submission themselves or have the necessary rights and permissions to submit it;

b. the Submission does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other legal rights;

c. the Submission does not contain confidential information that the Participant is not allowed to disclose;

d. the Submission complies with these Terms and the Competition rules.

8.3 By submitting a Submission, Participants grant Ambolt AI a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, display, reproduce, publish, communicate, and promote the Submission for purposes related to the Competition, including judging, showcasing, press, social media, event communication, reports, and marketing of the Competition.

8.4 This license does not transfer ownership of the Submission to Ambolt AI.

8.5 If a Submission includes open-source software, third-party assets, datasets, APIs, models, images, music, text, or other third-party materials, Participants are responsible for complying with the applicable licenses and terms.

8.6 Ambolt AI is not responsible for disputes between Participants, Teams, employers, universities, or third parties regarding ownership of Submissions.

9. Team Submissions

9.1 If a Submission is made by a Team, each Team member is responsible for ensuring that the Team has the right to submit the project.

9.2 The Team is responsible for deciding internally how ownership, credit, prize distribution, and future use of the Submission will be handled.

9.3 Ambolt AI is not responsible for resolving internal Team disputes.

10. Prizes

10.1 Any prizes will be described in the official Competition materials.

10.2 Ambolt AI may require winners to provide additional information to verify eligibility and deliver prizes.

10.3 Prizes are non-transferable unless Ambolt AI agrees otherwise.

10.4 Ambolt AI may substitute a prize with another prize of similar value if the original prize becomes unavailable.

10.5 Participants are responsible for any taxes, fees, or reporting obligations related to receiving a prize, unless otherwise required by law.

10.6 If a winner cannot be contacted, does not respond within the required time, is found ineligible, or violates these Terms, Ambolt AI may select another winner.

11. Judging

11.1 Submissions will be judged according to the criteria published by Ambolt AI.

11.2 Judges may include representatives from Ambolt AI, sponsors, partners, or independent experts.

11.3 Judges may consider factors such as creativity, technical quality, relevance, usability, impact, responsible AI use, presentation quality, and compliance with the Competition rules.

11.4 Ambolt AI and the judges may reject or downgrade Submissions that are incomplete, late, misleading, unlawful, unsafe, or non-compliant.

11.5 Judging decisions are final.

12. Privacy and Personal Data

12.1 Ambolt AI processes personal data in connection with registration, participation, communication, judging, prize administration, event operations, and promotion of the Competition.

12.2 Personal data may include name, email address, organization, profile information, Submission information, communication data, and other information provided by Participants.

12.3 Ambolt AI will process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR where applicable.

12.4 Additional information about how personal data is collected, used, stored, shared, and deleted is available in Ambolt AI’s Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy available on https://dmiai.dk.

12.5 By participating, Participants acknowledge that their name, Team name, Submission title, public project description, images, video recordings, and similar Competition-related content may be used to present and promote the Competition, unless they object where legally permitted.

12.6 Participants must not include personal data about others in their Submissions unless they have a lawful basis and all necessary permissions to do so.

13. Confidentiality

13.1 The Competition is generally not intended for the exchange of confidential information.

13.2 Participants should not submit confidential business information, trade secrets, sensitive personal data, or information covered by confidentiality obligations.

13.3 If Ambolt AI provides materials clearly marked as confidential, Participants must keep those materials confidential and use them only for the Competition.

14. Disqualification

Ambolt AI may disqualify a Participant or Team if Ambolt AI reasonably believes that they have:

a. violated these Terms or the Competition rules;

b. provided false or misleading information;

c. cheated or attempted to manipulate the Competition;

d. infringed third-party rights;

e. misused AI tools, data, APIs, or the Platform;

f. acted unlawfully, abusively, or unfairly;

g. harmed or attempted to harm Ambolt AI, other Participants, judges, sponsors, partners, or the Competition.

Disqualification may result in loss of eligibility, removal of Submissions, cancellation of prizes, and suspension from future events.

15. No Warranty

15.1 The Competition, Platform, Ambolt AI Materials, tools, APIs, datasets, and related services are provided “as is” and “as available.”

15.2 Ambolt AI makes no guarantee that:

a. the Competition will be uninterrupted or error-free;

b. the Platform or tools will always be available;

c. Submissions will be stored without loss;

d. any Participant will win a prize or receive a particular result;

e. Ambolt AI Materials are suitable for any particular purpose.

15.3 Participants are responsible for backing up their own work.

16. Limitation of Liability

16.1 To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ambolt AI is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, loss of opportunity, business interruption, or reputational harm.

16.2 Ambolt AI is not responsible for technical failures, internet outages, platform downtime, data loss, unauthorized access, third-party services, or errors caused by Participants or third parties.

16.3 Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

17. Third-Party Services

17.1 The Competition may involve third-party platforms, tools, APIs, software, models, cloud services, communication tools, or datasets.

17.2 Participants are responsible for complying with any applicable third-party terms.

17.3 Ambolt AI is not responsible for third-party services, their availability, content, security, or performance.

18. Force Majeure

Ambolt AI is not responsible for failure or delay caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including internet or platform failures, cyberattacks, power outages, strikes, natural disasters, war, terrorism, government restrictions, epidemics, pandemics, or failures by third-party service providers.

19. Changes, Suspension, or Cancellation

Ambolt AI may modify, suspend, or cancel the Competition if necessary due to technical issues, security concerns, legal requirements, insufficient participation, force majeure events, or other circumstances that affect the fairness, security, or proper operation of the Competition.

20. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict of law rules.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Competition shall be handled by the competent courts of Denmark, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
